Val McDermidto visit Waterstones Edinburgh West Endas part of Killer Crime Festival 2015 #KillerFest15
One of the nation’s best loved crime authors Val McDermid will be at Waterstones Edinburgh West End on Friday 13th March from 6:00pm to discuss her career – from Tartan Noir to Jane Austen to The Skeleton Road – with Russel D. McLean. This special event is part of the UK’s inaugural Killer Crime Festival 2015, an innovative new festival which will combine live events at Waterstones bookshops around the country with an online festival programme hosted by Harpercollins Killer Reads.
The festival will be held on 13th and 14th March with Killer Reads, HarperCollins’ digital-first crime list running virtual events across various social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Google Hangouts. From Inverness to Plymouth, Waterstones bookshops around the UK will be hosting live events instore championing local crime writers. The festival will reach an estimated 26 million crime fans across the globe.
Val McDermid is the author of twenty-five bestselling novels, which have been translated into thirty languages, and have sold over ten million copies. She has won many awards internationally, including the CWA Gold Dagger for best crime novel of the year. She was inducted into the ITV3 Crime Thriller Awards Hall of Fame in 2009 and was the recipient of the CWA Diamond Dagger in 2010, awarded for sustained excellence and significant contribution to crime fiction.
